Formation of Collaborative Agreement

On April 4, 2008, Okayama University signed a collaborative agreement with the Republic of Palau’s Resource Development Ministry. The agreement specifies that the two parties will engage in collaborative work in the following areas.

Snorkeling and Implementation of International Environment Measures

We are safely implementing sports as a way to observe the Republic of Palau’s rich natural environment. Aiming to foster environmental education and deepen understanding of different cultures, something thatmodern societies require, we are acquiring basic knowledge on the environment and conducting research on the Republic of Palau. In the process, we present our research findings resulting from natural environment training, snorkeling, and other forms of on-site investigation. | ![]() |
Okayama-Hue International Master's Program

Brief Description
Okayama University and Hue University are working together to cultivate talented individuals capable of squaring off against issues in the fields of agriculture and the environment. In this way, our educational contribution can help address deepening environmental concerns and troubling agricultural development issues.Transitioning into the Okayama University School System
Students spend one year and six months at Hue University. In their second year, the students undertake a master’s curriculum at Okayama University’s Graduate School, studying under the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology or the Graduate School of Environmental Science. Under this system, students are conferred a master’s degree in agricultural studies or environmental studies after one year of master’s level studies.●To facilitate education and research for this special-curriculum students in the first period of studying at Hue University, we dispatch approximately 15 instructors and are conducting intensive classes every year. In addition, for students coming over to Okayama University, we provide a half-year course in Japanese language instruction.
- Collaborative Master’s Degree program run jointly by Okayama and Hue universities, targeting Vietnam over a 10 year period
- Provision of tuition waivers and scholarships for the period of studying at Okayama University, and round-trip travel expenses
- Fostering of competence in the fields of agriculture and the environment in Vietnam
- Resolution of poverty in developing countries and contribution of educational support such as ESD

Northeast Normal University, Jilin University, Harbin Medical University, China Medical University, and Dalian Medical University constitute five universities in the northeastern region of China. These five universities have joined Okayama University in order to foster highly competent graduates through a program that provides internationally accepted standards of education, guarantees educational quality, and meets common standards for graduate degrees.Double-Degree Program
Okayama University and five universities in the northeastern region of China have formed and begun to execute a collaborative graduate program with Okayama University. Under this system, by entering both schools as fully legitimate students and working to fulfill the master’s requirements at both schools, students may obtain their master’s degree at both universities. The program targets the following students:①First year student in the master's course
②Fifth year students in the undergraduate-master's joint course
Short-Term Study Abroad System (Credit Transfer System)
Okayama and the five universities of northeastern China have implemented a short-term study abroad program for stays of 6 months to one year. Under the program, credits obtained while studying at the university abroad are recognized at the student’s home institution when he or she returns home. The program targets the following students:・Already a student in the graduate school master's course or the undergraduate-master's joint course

●As part of an autumn and spring seminar system that includes special course selections abroad, Okayama University instructors are dispatched to China twice a year for one week. With the support of the China office, they provide explanations about the program. (Picture above) |
