International Cooperative Education on Exploration and Utilization of BioResources Joint Development of a Practical Training Program for Young Scientists to Work in the Field of BioResourcesBackground and Objectives of the Initiative
This initiative is aimed to foster students who can exhibit international leadership in the field of biological sciences. Working not just with museums and botanical gardens at both universities and research institutes, but also with international research institutions under the auspices of FAO, WWF, UNESCO, and Japan Overseas Cooperation Agency (JICA), this program expects to provide international cooperation in a wide array of fields. This initiative also hopes to boost worldwide recognition of Okayama University and Japan in Bioscience. This effort should also spill over into Japan's long-term Bioresources strategies. Finally, this program aims to build international research cooperation, foster human resource talent, and build a scientific network.
