Okayama University’s Primary International Exchange Agreements
In order to help foster graduates who have a cosmopolitan outlook and an appreciation for and understanding of foreign cultures, Okayama University has student exchange and researcher exchange activities positively. Our school has numerous partnerships with universities and research institutions abroad, including 51 University Level International Exchange Agreements and 123 Faculty Level International Exchange Agreements. (as of July 1, 2009)

Main contents- Japanese course (speaking / writing)
- Lectures about Japanese culture
- Japanese cultural experiences (tea ceremony, “Hadaka-Matsuri” in Saidai-ji)
- Excursion to the outskirts of Okayama (Kibitsu Shrine, Korakuen-Park, Kurashiki-Bikan-Area)
- Tour to famous historic places (Kyoto, Hiroshima, Hagi, Tsuwano etc.)
- Exchanges with Okayama University students

International Center provides various Japanese Language Programs.
Japanese language trainees
The Intensive Japanese Language Course provides a 6-month intensive Japanese language and background information of Japan training course (Research Students and Educational Training Researchers) as preliminary education.Preparatory Education for Exchange Students between Japanese and Korean Schools of Science and Engineering
The ‘Japan Korea Joint Exchange Program’ based on the ‘Japan Korea Joint Declaration’ (1998), started in 2000. This program is a ten year plan in which Korean students are invited to the science and engineering departments of Japanese national universities to study for four years.Students Training in the Japanese Language and Culture
Every October, Okayama University accepts a number of students eligible for Japanese government (Monbukagakusho) scholarships into the "Japanese Studies" Program.
