Prof. Okayasu and former students receive a Best Paper Award from an international journal

On November 2nd, Okayama University Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology Prof. Mitsuhiro Okayasu, his former students (Mr. Shaohua Wu has completed his master program at Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology in March 2017) and research colleague have received the “2016 Second Best Paper Award” from an international scientific journal, Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, for a paper they authored. An award ceremony was held on the same day at Jeju, Republic of Korea, with Prof. Okayasu and his former students in attendance. Prof. Okayasu and his research members have developed new cast aluminum alloys and the related paper was published in March 2016. The paper was selected for the award based on the expectation that the research result will contribute to future development of mechanical engineering. The Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology is published by Springer, a German publisher which publishes approximately 700 academic papers a year. The Best Paper Award is given to up to three papers for academic excellence.
