Program Title

  • New Functional Materials for Highly Efficient Energy Systems

Program Summary

  • Purposes of the present project are (1) to develop clean energy resources and (2) to achieve efficient energy consumption through the development of novel functional materials along with the renovation of known materials. The project involves the training of researchers, as well as high]quality education programs in the graduate school.
Needs and Objectives of the Program: The massive energy consumption that supports modern civilization is also the cause of serious contamination and disturbance in environments around the globe. The realization of efficient consumption and the clean generation of energy will be achieved only by the development of novel functional materials. This project involves research conducted on a multi]disciplinary basis, with collaboration by researchers in the fields of solid state physics, chemistry, electronics, and electrical and mechanical engineering, all determined to find a solution to the energy problem.
