Admission for Foreign Students

A limited number of students from other countries are admitted to the university. Applicants must have completed 12 years of schooling by the time of entrance. Equivalent education (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma) that is approved by the Minister of Education, Science, Sport and Culture would meet this requirement. A valid passport with a visa (Status of Residence College Student), issued by the Immigration Bureau of Japan, is also required.

Application forms for admission to the undergraduate course for the academic year beginning in April are to be sent to the admission office during a period in early February that will be announced by the university. Applicants are required to take an entrance examination for foreign students given by the university (see above).

It is also necessary to take the General Examination for Foreign Student (Major Field, Science) and the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Level 1). The General Examination is conducted by the Association of International Education in Japan (AIEJ) in Tokyo and Osaka at the beginning of December every year. The Japanese Proficiency Test is cosponsored by AIEJ and the Japan Foundation and is offered in Tokyo, Osaka and locations outside of Japan at the beginning of December every year.

For further information, applicants should consult the Admission Office of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Technology.
