Okayama University has launched a new website featuring information related to the Okayama University Global Engagement Office (OUGEO).

OUGEO was established in April 2020 to help integrate the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into university management practices through global engagement activities as part of the university’s SDG University Management scheme. The purpose of OUGEO is to contribute to planetary health and the creation of a sustainable circular society by collaborating with the United Nations, international organizations, government agencies, and other national and international stakeholders. More specifically, OUGEO’s global engagement strategy intends to turn Okayama University’s unique characteristics and strengths into internationally recognized assets by demonstrating how Okayama University’s educational and research resources and Okayama’s regional resources can be used to solve global issues. Through various activities focused on global engagement, Okayama University expects to become a gateway connecting Okayama and its surrounding regions to the world.

The new website gives an overview of OUGEO’s goals and provides photos and detailed written examples of its initiatives. Additionally, a dedicated website allows us to actively spread information regarding OUGEO’s activities and efficiently connect with university management and various stakeholders as we stive to offer new value to society.
