Completion Briefing Session Held for the 13th Cohort of the Okayama University-Hue International Master’s Program

September 21, 2022

On September 6, an online briefing session to mark course completion of the Okayama University-Hue International Master’s Program was held. The course is a joint program with Hue University, Vietnam, in which Vietnamese graduate students enrolled in Hue University transferred to Okayama University’s Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science for their second-year grade in April 2021. However, the program was delayed by six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the first seven months upon commencement were held online before the students were able to come to Japan from May 2022 and engage in research at Okayama University for five months. The briefing session gave the students an opportunity to present an overview of their Master’s thesis, and to report their completion of the course to the foster companies who supported them during the program.

In the briefing session, three students who completed the course in September 2022 presented an overview of their Master’s thesis. Following this, everyone divided into small groups and the students, companies and supervisors were able to chat and exchange views actively. It was a good opportunity for the students to reflect on their course experiences and convey their gratitude once more to the foster companies.

We hope that the three successful graduates will take the knowledge and experiences gained throughout the course back to their homeland. We look forward to hearing about their future achievements. Okayama University will work to further improve the program, including the academic guidance and support systems. In addition, we will continue implementing exchange activities and educational contributions for Vietnam, which is a key focus in promoting international exchange with the ASEAN region.
