On January 12, President Watcharin Gasaluck, Vice President for Research and Innovation Jittima Charoenpanich, and Vice President for Strategic Plans and Policies Savaminee Teerawut of the Burapha University, Thailand, and others visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call to President MAKINO Hirofumi.
Vice President for International Affairs SUZUKI Takayoshi, Professor NISHIHARA Yasushi of the Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Science, Professor KANZAKI Hiroshi of the Faculty of Environmental and Life Science, and Associate Professor TANI Akio of the Institute of Plant Science and Resources attended the courtesy call. President Gasaluck noted that the quality of education in Japan is high, and that Japan and Thailand have common research issues such as aging society. President Gasaluck also expressed his desire to further activate exchanges based on the existing faculty-level agreement as well as to collaborate on a university-level basis, and the two sides exchanged opinions on future collaboration possibilities.
Burapha University School of Science entered into an faculty-level agreement with our university's Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science and Institute of Plant Science and Resources in 2013, and with the University's School of Science, Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, and the Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Science in 2019. In addition, Vice President Charoenpanich has completed the doctoral course of our university, and we continue to actively interact with each other. We hope that this visit will be an opportunity to further strengthen our exchange.
