On April 2, the 2023 Matriculation Ceremony for Okayama University and Graduate School were held at the Okayama Prefectural Multipurpose Grounds Gymnasium (Zip Arena Okayama) to welcome a total of 3,514 undergraduate and graduate students to the university.

At the ceremony, President NASU Yasutomo said, "Today marks the beginning of a new day full of 'hope' for you as students of Okayama University. Please believe in yourself, take the initiative, and live your university life with excitement and thrill toward your big dreams and hopes for the future. You are the main players. We sincerely hope that the future we build together with you will surpass the history and traditions of our university, and bring you greater “pride and hope”. In the morning, AMABE Akiko of the School of Agriculture and in the afternoon, YAMAMURA Yuka of the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences gave the pledge on behalf of the incoming students, respectively.

Many parents also attended the ceremony and watched over the new students as they embarked on their university life.
