Her Royal Highness Princess Abze Djigma from Burkina Faso paid a courtesy visit to President Nasu

On February 2, Her Royal Highness Princess Abze Djigma from Burkina Faso, an honorary doctorate recipient of Okayama University, paid a courtesy visit to President NASU Yasutomo. This marks Her Highness's second visit to Okayama University since the honorary doctorate conferred ceremony in February 2023 and the first visit since President Nasu took office. Her Highness's visit this time was made in conjunction with an invitation to deliver a keynote speech at the World Wide Learning (WWL) High School International Conference organized by the Okayama Prefectural Board of Education.

During the courtesy visit, Executive Director for Academic Affairs, SUGA Seiji, Vice President for Global Engagement, YOKOI Atsufumi, and Mr. MATSUMOTO Sota (currently an employee of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Youth Ambassador and representative at One Young World Summit during his time at Okayama University) were also present. Her Highness shared some of the activities she has done since the last visits, and President Nasu introduced the news of receiving the Program for Forming Japan's Peak Research Universities (J-PEAKS) as part of the regional core and distinctive research university strengthening initiative.

Okayama University will continue to strengthen collaboration with Her Royal Highness Princess Abze Djigma in education focusing on global environmental issues and climate change, and contribute to the planetary well-being of all.
