Vice President Prof. YOKOI Atsufumi, UNESCO Chairholder, was invited to participate in Harvard Climate Action Week in the U.S.

From June 10 to 14, Harvard University in the United States hosted the 2nd Harvard Climate Action Week, a university-wide discussion on climate change and sustainability with the collaboration of students and faculty. Okayama University Vice President for Global Engagement and UNESCO Chairholder, Prof. YOKOI Atsufumi, was invited to participate as one of the global climate action leaders.

The Harvard Climate Action Symposium was held at the Sanders Theater in Memorial Hall for the first two days of the week. The venue was the historic hall famous for Harvard University's "Justice with Michael Sandel." Interim President Alan M. Garber* took the podium for opening remarks, followed by Vice President for Climate and Sustainability James Stock. Vice President Prof. Yokoi was involved in a "Gen Z Climate Leadership" discussion where young individuals talked about climate action and shared ideas. Additionally, he had conversations and exchanged ideas with representatives from Harvard University and global climate action leaders.

Okayama University aims to contribute to planetary well-being by co-creating the desired future of the local community and the planet with diverse stakeholders.
