The Institute of Global Human Resource Development is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of its 2024 Summer Language Training and Short-term Overseas Program. All participating students have safely returned to Japan. This summer, the program included language training at the University of Adelaide in Australia and the University of Sheffield in UK, as well as the AUN - SUN/SixERS Study and Visit Programme in Thailand and a Cross-Cultural Experience Program in Singapore, with a total of 93 students participating.
Mr. TOMOTSUGI Hayato, a second-year student from the School of Letters who participated in the AUN - SUN/SixERS Study and Visit Programme, reflected on his experience, stating: “I decided to participate in the program because I wanted to visit Thailand, a country where modern innovation coexists with a rich historical culture. One of the most memorable moments was visiting a rural community in Rayong Province in eastern Thailand. I was impressed to learn how they engage in sustainable farming while preserving traditional practices. It was surprising to see that even in Thailand's rural areas, the concept of a sustainable society is firmly held, perhaps even more so than in Japan. This experience reinforced my belief that there are insights that can only be gained through direct engagement, and I am committed to continuing to learn through firsthand experiences.”
Furthermore, Associate Professor INAMORI Takao from the Institute of Global Human Resource Development shared his insights on studying abroad: “Student life may feel lengthy, yet it passes by swiftly. If you find yourself contemplating whether to study overseas, I highly recommend choosing to go. The destination and duration can be tailored to fit your schedule. Regardless of where you travel, you are certain to gain valuable lessons. I encourage you to actively engage with both locals and fellow travelers from different cultures. Taking that extra step forward can unveil an exciting world.”
Studying abroad offers more than just an educational experience; it can profoundly transform one’s life. This opportunity not only enhances language skills and intercultural understanding but also expands personal growth and career possibilities. The Institute of Global Human Resource Development looks forward to seeing participating students grow into globally-minded individuals based on the insights they have gained through this program. We will continue to support our students' challenges through a variety of programs and events in the future.
We look forward to welcoming participants for our spring programs!
