On February 10, a delegation from Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) in Nigeria, including Chairman of the Governing Council Funso Isolaowa and President Abdul Ibraheem Adedotun, visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo. In addition to President Nasu, the university was represented by Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi and Director of the International Affairs Division, TAMURA Megumi. President Abdul visited Okayama University because he studied in the doctoral program at the university's Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology from 2008 to 2011, and is currently a member of the Okayama University International Alumni Association (OUIAA).
During the courtesy visit, President Nasu expressed pride in the fact that a former international student from Okayama University is now serving as the president of YABATECH. Following this, Chairman Funso Isolaowa introduced YABATECH and made suggestions for future cooperation between the two universities. In response, President Nasu expressed a positive interest in strengthening the relationship in the future.
On the same day, the delegation visited the School of Engineering, where they held discussions regarding potential exchanges with Dean NANBA Tokuro and Vice Dean OKAYASU Mitsuhiro.
This visit is expected to serve as a foundation for active future exchanges.
