Okayama University held the Sign Unveiling Ceremony for the Global Engagement Center

April 25, 2025

To mark the establishment of the Global Engagement Center on April 1, Okayama University held a sign unveiling ceremony on April 16 at the entrance of General Education Building C.

President Yasuto Nasu, Executive Director Yukari Mimura (Planning, Evaluation and General Affairs), and Vice President Atsufumi Yokoi (Global Engagement) attended the ceremony to unveil the new sign. Following the unveiling, President Nasu and Vice President Yokoi delivered remarks. President Nasu expressed high expectations for the Center’s role and future development, stating, “I hope this Center will grow into a command tower not only in Japan but also worldwide.”

The Center aims to advance “Internationalization in Higher Education for Society (IHES)” and will function as an action tank to generate integrated social impact across three communities: campus, global, and local. With University Global Administrators (UGA) at its core, the Center will focus particularly on developing collaborative projects through direct partnerships with the United Nations and other international organizations, leveraging the University’s education and research strengths. Through these efforts, the Center seeks to promote “Integrated Engagement” (Campus, Global, and Local Engagement) and contribute to society.
