The Institute for Planetary Materials is holding Misasa International Student Internship Program (MISIP) from July 1 to August 8. MISIP has been held since FY 2005 to foster the next generation of young researchers and build an international network and more than 170 internship students have participated. This year, 8 internship students from 7 countries, including China, Dutch, Japan, Korea, UK, Colombia and India have joined the program and they are conducting 3 research projects proposed by the faculty members.
On July 1, an orientation, a welcome lunch and lab tour were held. At the welcome lunch, Pekham Ganguly (2nd-year graduate student・Techno India University) from India expressed his goals for the program and life in Japan, “I am thrilled to join the IPM program and explore exciting topics in planetary science alongside international peers. Staying in Misasa offers a unique chance to experience Japan’s rich culture and natural beauty during this incredible academic journey.”
