The "Training workshop on advances in boron neutron capture therapy" was held for two days on Tuesday, November 18, and Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at J-Hall on the Shikata Campus of Okayama University. The workshop was organized by Okayama University, acting as an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Collaborating Centre, with the aim of promoting international knowledge sharing and human resource development in the field of BNCT.The event opened with a greeting from President Yasutomo Nasu, followed by a message from Mr. Danas Ridikas, Section Head of the IAEA Physics Section. Over the two days, presentations were delivered by leading researchers in various BNCT-related fields, including physics, chemistry, biology, and medicine.Lively discussions were held with 21 participants regarding efforts toward the international standardization of BNCT, based on the development status of accelerator-based neutron sources, boron compounds, and the progress of BNCT clinical trials. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of BNCT, from its fundamentals to clinical application and future prospects. The IAEA Collaborating Centre at Okayama University will continue to contribute to global BNCT research, development, and human resource training in the future.
