Execution of University Level Exchange Agreement with Gadjah Mada University

November 30, 2009

On November 13th, Okayama University has entered into the Exchange Agreement with Gadjah Mada University of Indonesia.
Gadjah Mada University is one of the oldest universities in Indonesia established in 1946. Proud of its long history, it is a comprehensive university with 18 faculties and has been ranked as the highest among the universities in Indonesia by THES World University Rankings.

The history of exchanges between Gadjah Mada and Okayama originates from Faculty Level Exchange Agreement concluded between Agriculture Departments of the two universities in 1987. Ever since then for over 20 years, there have been active and constant exchanges between many faculties and graduate schools such as Medical Schools and Graduate School of Environmental Science. In order to develop our exchange partnership, we decided to conclude a new university level agreement which makes our 55th Exchange Agreement with overseas universities.

Both the Rector of Gadjar Mada University, Professor Ir. Soedjarwadi and Dr. Kyozo Chiba, President of Okayama University attended the Signing Ceremony. After signing the agreement, they both shook hands firmly.

From now on, under strong partnership, Gadjar Mada and Okayama are ready to promote exchange programs among students as well as faculty and staff, joint research programs to foster human resources and coalition programs to enhance “Education for Sustainable Development” in Asian region.
