Hue University Graduate School – Final Presentation and Closing Ceremony of the Special Program

May 06, 2010

On the 18th of March, the Final Presentation and Closing Ceremony of the “Okayama University – Hue University Graduate School Special Program ” was held. Eight graduate school students came to Okayama last April to be the first to finish the second year of their master’s degree in this program, which is co-hosted by Okayama University and Hue University, Vietnam.

This Final Presentation and Closing Ceremony was held in order to show the students’ private funders (which are needed in order to support a full time university schedule) their completion and to present their Master’s theses. 50 people, including Okayama University’s faculty members and relative people from the College of Agriculture and Forestry of Hue University attended the ceremony. The people, who came from Hue University, were in charge of and played an important role in the first half of the course.

During the ceremony, the international students gave their research presentations in English. At the end, they expressed their gratitude to their funders, who had also encouraged them. The ceremony ran smoothly and ended with a great atmosphere.

Except for the one student who will further pursue his studies at the Okayama University, seven of the graduates are returning home to Vietnam, where it is expected that they will play an active role in their home country.

Furthermore, Okayama University will endeavor to support the educational programs that contribute to Vietnam. Also, they plan to continue to promote international exchange relations between the university and Vietnam, as that country is of high priority to the university.
The university is very enthusiastic about the international exchange programs that are now in place, and will continue to put much effort toward the newly formed special program.
