Guests from Turkey Pay Courtesy Call to President MORITA

On April 8, Dr. Ramazan YIGITOGLU, Vice-Rector of Turgut Ozal University in Turkey, and Dr. Mehmet GUNDUZ, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the same university, visited Okayama University. In December 2014, Turgut Ozal University and Okayama University signed an agreement of cooperation (university level), and Dr. YIGITOGLU and Dr. GUNDUZ paid a courtesy call to President Kiyoshi MORITA to further promote exchanges between the two universities.

On the same day, the group visited the Shikata Campus, toured several facilities including Okayama University Hospital’s Interventional Radiology (IVR) Center and intensive care unit, and received an explanation of various equipment such as the Da Vinci Robot, a highly advanced survey robot, and 3D printer.

Dr. GUNDUZ, who studied as an international student at the Graduate School of Medicine, Okayama University, (present day Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences) had the following to say: “I was extremely impressed by the world-class facilities. Work (conducted at the university), such as the world’s first hybrid lung transplant, is incredible.”
