August 03, 2016

The University’s Center for Global Partnerships and Education held a closing ceremony on July 29th at the Tsushima Campus for international students completing their Exchange Program Okayama (EPOK) or CAMPUS Asia Program.

In attendance were approximately 50 students and faculty members. Yoshito Emmi, Vice-Director of Center for Global Partnerships and Education, handed each student a certificate of completion. It was followed by speeches from three students reflecting on their study abroad experience; a message from Yoko Yamamoto, the Director of Center for Global Partnerships and Education; and words of congratulations from faculty who taught the international students .

Vice-Director Emmi encouraged the students by stating, “If you hold onto your dreams and keep working towards it, it will always come true.” Kevin Chen, an international student from San Jose State University shared, “To tell you the truth, Okayama University was not my first choice, but in retrospect, I feel that coming here was the best thing that could have happened for me! I really appreciate the wonderful environment, all the warm support I received, and the great friends I met here.”

After the closing ceremony, the students reminisced over the memories they made at Okayama University and reluctantly said their farewells to their friends. There were 39 EPOK exchange students and nine CAMPUS Asia Program students who completed their programs this term .
