Okayama University Eco Night 2017 held

July 12, 2017

On June 28, Okayama University Eco Night 2017 was held in front of the Muscat Union Square on the Tsushima Campus in conjunction with the CO2 Reduction/Light-Down Campaign the government implements.

Approximately 40 students, faculty, and community members had the opportunity to learn about eco-friendly ways of living through participation in workshops for making trinket boxes from plastic bottles or making handbags out of English-language newspapers. Other activities included booths for experiencing power generation and introducing various eco-friendly projects. At 7 p.m., Okayama University student circle “biripel” gave an acappella performance with candles lit around them. The warm light and singing helped raise awareness for eco issues.
This event was organized by The Consortium of Universities in Okayama, which is composed of universities within Okayama Prefecture, including Okayama University. This was the 7th year for the event to be held.
