Three recognized as top young researchers of Okayama University for 2010

Associate Professor Jun Oshitani, Lecturer Shinji Kawasaki and Assistant Professor Masumi Taki received the “Okayama University Award for the Encouragement of Young Top Researchers” March 1, 2011 for their achievements.

Associate Professor Oshitani’s commercialization efforts of dry-type specific gravity separation technology, Lecturer Kawasaki’s research on high-temperature superconductivity and Assistant Professor Taki’s research on Functional Protein were judged to have reached a level warranting international recognition.

The assessment criteria were achievements, future prospects and the success rate of winning competitive funding. Okayama University President Kyozo Chiba handed each recipient a certificate of appreciation.

President Chiba commented “Young talented researchers such as you are the pride of our institution; please continue to devote yourselves to your research!” .

The Top Young Researcher Award was established in 2007 to develop young researchers. There were 12 applicants for the award this year.
