November 13, 2018

Okayama University held the Tsushima Festival on the Tsushima Campus on November 2 and 3 and the Shikata Festival on the Shikata Campus from November 2 to November 4.

This year’s Tsushima Festival was held under the theme “The Final Okayama University Festival in the Heisei Era: Our Dynamic and Exciting Festival (平成最後の岡大祭~渦巻く我らの大喝祭~[Heisei saigo no okadaisai~Uzumaku warerano daikassai]).” During the festival, the campus was filled with a wide variety of booths. As usual, cultural clubs showcased their exhibitions and music clubs gave live performances. The festival also included various contests, dancing, and Double Dutch events and other unique events, which were held on three special stages on the campus. These events were highly successful. A concert by Boys and Men, a Japanese idol group, which was held at Shimizu Memorial Gymnasium on the campus, was also a great success, attracting a large audience.

During the Shikata Festival, various events unique to the medical campus were held—medical exhibitions were displayed, medical checkup stations were set up and dental students instructed visitors on how to properly brush their teeth. In addition, a variety of booths were set up by clubs, participatory events such as karaoke and drag contests were held, and a talk show by Japanese idol Moga Mogami was held, which drew many spectators.
