On the 26th of August, ENNISHI Daisuke, Associate Professor at Okayama University Hospital, was awarded the title of Research Professor under the “Okayama University Research Professor Program”. An award ceremony was held at President Makino’s office on October 12 in the presence of Vice President and Executive Director for Research NASU Yasutomo.

Associate Professor Ennishi is studying the molecular pathobiology of malignant lymphoma, which is a type of blood cancer, and is expected to contribute to the development of new treatment strategies. His research on the relationship between genetic alterations, gene expression, and the tumor microenvironment could open the door to precision medicine or “cancer genomic medicine”, essentially providing individualized treatments based on genetic information.

Okayama University established Research Professor Program in 2018 to encourage outstanding young associate professors, who achieve significant research results in their fields, remarkable research activities as principal investigators and obtain large-scale external research grants. In 2020, Research Associate Professor Program was established for outstanding Assistant Professors and Lecturers.
Since then, 16 young researchers were awarded the title of Research Professor and the title of Research Associate Professor.
