Domestic base construction for comprehensive treatment, research and education of GAD

 Only Okayama University has the Gender Center that treats, makes research and provides education of gender associated diseases(GAD) including gender identity disorder(GID) . This time, national insurance coverage for sex reassignment surgery is approved. So, this center has to play an important role as the training Institute to grow up the GID medical specialists.
【Practice】 We develop world’s first flap combination phallolasty that is better not only for cosmetic outcome but, also forfunctionthan past procedures and introduced recto-sigmoid colon vaginoplasty with laparoscope.
【Research】 We have researched sex organ transfer homosexually and heterosexually for the first time’s uterine transplantation and cooperate with other universities as a director of Japan Society for uterine transplantation.
【Education】 We focus on successor training program and recommend training abroad and presentation at the international conference. We have global partners such as Gent Uni. in Belgium, Vrije Uni. Amsterdam in Netherland, Dong-A Uni. In Korea and Chulalongkorn Uni. In Thailand. In the next March we’ll organize the 21st GID annual meeting and the 11th GID operative technique workshop in Okayama.
