 Japan is entering a crisis of decline not only in hilly and mountainous area but also in the urban area due to the aging society and the declining total population.
Okayama city and Kurashiki city, which are the core cities of Okayama prefecture, are not exceptions. As part of regional creation, research activities started in collaboration with industry, academia, municipality and finance industry and so on aiming at sustainability and compact city with environmentally friendly measures to treat houses unlived.

 This research group is organized for the purpose of studying the development of city and measures to advance the area value in the context of business models. In the future, we will examine the needs to utilize houses unlived with new values ​​based on the survey of vacant houses, create a business model through collaboration among industry, academia municipality and finance industry and so on, develop human resources and create employment. As a result, the increase of migrants from inside and outside will contribute to the revitalization of local economies of Okayama City and Kurashiki City and the creation of a vibrant community. In addition to providing the results to all the municipalities in Okayama prefecture, we would like to develop business models as measures for houses unlived and expand nationwide.
