Dear all international students who are waiting to enter Japan

November 29, 2021

We regret to inform you that the Government of Japan (GOJ) will suspend all new entries into the country by foreign nationals, including international students, citing the emergence of the omicron variant of COVID on and after November 30, 2021.

As soon as we heard the news of November 5th, we were working hard proceeding with closely working with MEXT, as well as establishing our own system to support a part of the costs related to the waterfront measures so that international students can enter Japan with less worries, however, GOJ has reversed course in hopes of preventing another wave of infections.

Thus, it is with great regret that we have to ask your kind understanding for GOJ's new announcement of entry ban.
We will contact you once again as soon as we receive new announcement for relaxing the border and the necessary procedures would be finalized.

Our priority is welfare and health of students and we strongly believe that international students are one of the most valued members of Okayama University. Therefore, it will take some time before your actually mobility would be possible.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you on campus and working together to create new value for future.
