On October 19, the Chairperson of the Okayama University International Alumni Association (OUIAA), Prof. Guo Yanping, visited the University and paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo. This visit was made possible by Prof. Guo’s coming to Japan to attend the 13th OUIAA General Meeting.

Attendees at the courtesy call were Executive Director for Academic Affairs and Senior Vice President SUGA Seiji and Director of International Affairs Division TAMURA Megumi, among others. Prof. Guo reported on the activities and challenges of the OUIAA and engaged in discussions about strengthening alumni association activities in the future.

As of October 2023, OUIAA has established 55 branches (including 7 communication bases) in 28 countries around the world to promote student exchange, facilitate interactions among university faculty members, and strengthen the bonds between the alma mater and its alumni. It is expected that OUIAA will serve as a bridge between alumni and the university, contributing to further global initiatives.
