2024 O-NECUS Program Autumn Seminar Held

On November 1, the Master's Degree Program in Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences held the O-NECUS Program Autumn Seminar - Student Recruitment 2024 - online (ZOOM). The seminar aimed to recruit outstanding students and enhance research exchanges. 51 students from each partner university and 19 officials from various universities participated.

The Master's Degree Program in Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences (Medical and Dental Sciences) annually accepts numerous short-term O-NECUS program exchange students from affiliated universities in Northeastern China. It actively promotes their advancement to Okayama University's Doctoral Course for Post O-NECUS(hereafter Post O-NECUS) after completing the program. This year's seminar, held in collaboration with four universities: Harbin Medical University, Jilin University, China Medical University, and Dalian Medical University. In addition, Inner Mongolia Medical University, which signed an academic exchange agreement with the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences in December 2022, was invited as a special online guest.

The seminar was moderated by Assistant Professor WANG Dengli, of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a Post O-NECUS graduate (Jilin University). Following the screening of the program's promotional video, Professor OOHASHI Toshitaka, Director of the Master's Degree Program, introduced an overview of the program. Subsequently, Professor WADA Jun presented the Department of Nephrology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology and Metabolism Renal, Immune, Professor HOSONO Yasuyuki introduced the Department of Pharmacology, Professor KAMIOKA Hiroshi introduced the Department of Orthodontics, and Professor OKAMURA Hirohiko presented the Department of Oral Morphology.

Furthermore, Post O-NECUS students shared their experiences, including insights into the program, life in the laboratory, daily life in Okayama, and career paths. The subsequent Q&A session featured numerous questions from participating students, covering topics such as language proficiency, scholarships, and admission to regular courses. Assistant Professor GAO Tong of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmaceutical Sciences (Dalian Medical University graduate), who is also an alumnus of Post O-NECUS, joined in the lively Q&A session.
