On October 20, the Okayama University International Alumni Association (OUIAA) held its 13th general meeting in a hybrid format.

Guests included Prof. Guo Yanping, who assumed the position of the chairperson of the OUIAA this fiscal year, and Mr. KONAGA Keiichi, chairperson of the Okayama University Alumni Association, President NASU Yasutomo, who is an advisor to the OUIAA, Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni SUZUKI Takayoshi, and Executive Director for Academic Affairs, SUGA Seiji attended the meeting.

In her opening remarks, Prof. Guo expressed her strong commitment to contribute to the further development of Okayama University. She emphasized the revitalization of each branch of the OUIAA, strengthening the network, and supporting the recruitment of international students. She also pledged to work towards the realization of Okayama University's new vision.

The meeting included reports on activities from overseas branches, an introduction OUIAA’s activities from a student staff, and updates on the latest developments at Okayama University. Approximately 45 alumni from Japan and abroad participated online, creating a friendly atmosphere for sharing experiences.

The OUIAA, currently has 55 branches in 28 countries (including 7 communication bases) and around 1,100 members. The association aims to continue strengthening the exchange and bonds between the university and alumni, promoting the recruitment of outstanding international students, facilitating student exchange programs, and fostering future exchanges between faculty members. Leveraging its robust network, the association will continue its activities.
