November 24, 2023

On November 6 and 7, 59 students and 9 staff members from Kasetsart University Affiliated High School visited Okayama University through the "Science Classrooms in University-Affiliated School Project" conducted by the Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Ministry (MHESI) of Thailand. Okayama University and Kasetsart University have had a longstanding exchange since signing a university agreement in 2007.

During this visit, as part of the International High School and University Collaboration Program, high school students explored various faculties and research institutes at Okayama University, including the Medical School, Dental School, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Agriculture, and the Institute of Plant Science and Resources. Guided by faculty members from each department and institute, the students engaged in learning about education and research. Additionally, with the cooperation of Okayama University's involvement in the Study in Japan Global Network Project in ASEAN, explanations about the methods and key points for studying at Okayama University and other Japanese universities were provided.

Benyapha Woraphithakkul, one of the participants, expressed, "During this visit, we explored Tsushima Campus and Kasaoka Campus. I think Okayama University is a comfortable and optimal place for learning. Thank you for warmly welcoming us. This experience has become a wonderful memory and opportunity in my life. I hope to return to Okayama one day as a member of this university."

Kanokwan Laoaroon from the International Affairs Division at Kasetsart University's Kamphaeng Saen Campus, who coordinated the program and also supports Okayama University students, said, "On behalf of Kasetsart University, I sincerely express our gratitude and thanks to Okayama University for welcoming our group. This visit has provided the participating students with a great opportunity to experience studying at an overseas university."

Through this exchange and learning experience with Okayama University faculty, it is hoped that students from Kasetsart University Affiliated High School will choose to study abroad at our university in the future. Okayama University actively engages in exchanges not only with domestic but also with international high schools, aiming to provide opportunities for high school students to experience education and research at the university level.
