Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ariyoshi, Embassy of Japan in Costa Rica Visits Okayama University

On March 12, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ARIYOSHI Katsuhide, Embassy of Japan in Costa Rica, visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call to President NASU Yasutomo.

Ambassador Ariyoshi visited Okayama, a city in international friendship exchange with San José, Costa Rica, for over 60 years, as well as Okayama University, which has agreements with the United Nations University for Peace and the International Headquarters of the Earth Charter, both located in Costa Rica, to exchange views on future exchanges. Attending the courtesy visit were Vice President for Global Engagement YOKOI Atsufumi, Director of International Planning Division TAMURA Megumi and others.

President Nasu introduced the achievements of Okayama University's graduates in Costa Rica and the decision for one student from Costa Rica to study at Okayama University in the 2024 academic year. In response, Ambassador Ariyoshi expressed his willingness, stating, "I would like to extend my cooperation for future exchanges with Costa Rican students and alumni."
