On October 13, President NASU Yasutomo delivered a speech as a representative of Japan Association of National Universities at the "2024 International Forum on Higher Education," hosted by China Association of Higher Education in Beijing, China.

This forum has been held annually since 2001　by　China Association of Higher Education, inviting officials from international higher education organizations, university presidents, and researchers to engage with leaders and researchers from top universities in China. The theme of this year was "Scientific and Technological Innovation and Sustainable Development," with approximately 500 participants from over 30 countries and regions engaging in presentations and discussions.

President Nasu delivered a presentation titled "Innovative Talent Development at National Universities in Japan," outlining an overview of Japan’s national universities, the country’s science and technology policies, and initiatives at national universities. He also highlighted the support for emergent researchers at Okayama University, promoting　the efforts of Japan’s national universities and his university to a global audience.
