On January 20, nine international students from the School of Dentistry at the University of São Paulo in Brazil, along with Research Associate Professor HARA Emilio Satoshi, a graduate of the same university and currently a member of the Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Okayama University, visited President NASU Yasutomo for a courtesy call.
The students will participate in the Okayama University Dental School Short-term-Study-Abroad (Exchange) Program for Undergraduate Students – ODAPUS for foreign students from January 7 for 8 to 12 weeks. President Nasu introduced his visit to the School of Dentistry at the University of São Paulo and other universities in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in December 2024 and his lecture to local students. He expressed his encouragement to the students, "I also gained overseas experience during my undergraduate years. This experience became an invaluable turning point in my personal growth and career. I sincerely look forward to your future achievements. Okayama University will warmly welcome you in the future."
Under the ODAPUS program, we have been sending students from Dental School to international exchange partner universities. Since 2012, the program has also focused on promoting bidirectional exchanges by accepting international students from these partner institutions.
