The “Okayama SDGs Fair 2025” was held on August 7–8 at the Okayama Convention Center, where Okayama University and several of its student organizations took part in the event.
The fair is a major gathering that showcases advanced SDGs initiatives from across Okayama Prefecture. Now in its third year, the 2025 edition featured 98 exhibitors, along with lectures, workshops, quiz shows, and SDGs-themed food booths. Over the two-day period, approximately 3,500 visitors attended the event.
At the Okayama University booth, panels introduced the activities of the university’s faculty members and student organizations, attracting more than 100 groups of visitors. Many guests listened attentively to explanations, and photos with the popular “President Panel” display drew enthusiastic interest.
Associate Professor YOSHIKAWA Miyuki (Faculty of Educational and Research Management) hosted the workshop “LEGO × SDGs! Let’s Build the City of the Future.”
In addition, several Okayama University groups—including the Okayama University Hospital Open Innovation Program “BIZEN”, “the Okayama University Data Science Club (DS Club)”, OU! EXPO Project”, “Okayama University Rotaract Club (RAC)”, and “TABLE FOR TWO+ (TFT+)”—organized workshops and exhibition booths.
This year, more student groups and faculty members from Okayama University participated compared with last year. The event provided an opportunity to learn about advanced SDGs initiatives in Okayama and to foster meaningful exchanges with a diverse range of participants through the shared theme of the SDGs.
Okayama University will continue to expand partnerships and further advance its initiatives toward achieving the SDGs.
