Beijing office inauguration

On April 1st, Okayama University’s third international office in China was opened in Beijing. We will share the use and operation of the Hiroshima University Beijing Research Center, located at the College of International Education, Capital Normal University.

President Kiyoshi Morita and Vice President Masaru Araki visited Capital Normal University on April 25th and conducted an inauguration ceremony, attended by Hui-Li Gong, Capital Normal University’s Executive Vice President; Bicheng Song, Deputy Program Director of the Chinese Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) Department of Asian & Oceanian Programs; Mamoru Sasaki, Director of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Beijing Office (JSPS); and Sato Toshiyuki, Director of the Hiroshima University Beijing Research Center.

Professor Emeritus Masahiro Shimosada, who resigned in March 2012 from the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, will be the director of the Beijing office. In the foreseeable future, the director will work on site once a month to promote public relations for Okayama University, secure excellent students, support international students from Okayama University, support exchange between researchers, and support activities of the International Students Alumni Association in China.
