On July 3, Xu Baojie, vice president of Beijing Information Science and Technology University made a goodwill visit to pay his respects to Okayama University President Kiyoshi Morita. This is the first staff visit between the schools since the signing of a cooperation agreement in February 2011.
Welcomed into Pres. Morita’s office, VP Xu spoke of his determination that the cooperation agreement should serve to further strengthen the links between the two institutions and add to the mutual friendship. In reply, Pres. Morita said he had high hopes for student and research exchanges between the universities and emphasized his intention to make positive use of Okayama University’s new office in Beijing, which opened in April. There was also a productive exchange of opinions on the two universities’ goal to establish a framework for joint research and exchanges relating to research pursued by the Okayama University Faculty of Engineering.
