Woman-Support Counseling Room Established

March 31, 2010

Okayama University established two “Woman-Support Counseling Rooms” on its Tsushima and Shikata campuses, which have opened on the 18th of January 2010.

They were established as a part of “From Okayama University, academic capital, the evolution plan which female researchers are growing up”. This plan is subsidized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

Experienced counselor will offer advice on issues, which females might face,
such as: balancing work and family life, how to maintain healthy living, etc.

Although the counseling service is mainly for female staffs, researchers, and students, any consultations from men regarding females in such positions, are also welcome.

Please feel free to come in for advice when in need.

Doctor of Clinical Pedagogy, Clinical Psychologist, School counselor
(Current job description) Counselor in female counseling center. Also in charge of counseling service for academic staffs for a private university.
Research interests include eating disorders and domestic violence.
