On April 1, Okayama University opened its office in London, U.K. to promote further globalization. This is the university’s first overseas office in Europe. In addition to conducting PR activities for the university, the office will work to build and strengthen relationships with various British organizations such as universities and research institutes, and accelerate the globalization of the university’s students and staff.

Prior to the opening, an outsourcing agreement was signed with Japan Green Medical Centre, where the office was to be located, on March 26. The British Consulate-General in Osaka, which provided support for the opening of the office, was also present at the signing ceremony. On that day, they exchanged information on university entrance examination for Japanese and non-Japanese in the U.K and discussed strategies to cooperate with British universities and research institutes.

The center has been operating for more than twenty years in the U.K. and is conversant with the local situation. By utilizing this strength, it will serve as the university's liaison office in the U.K. and actively provide information on Okayama University to enhance its reputation.
