President of Kainan University, Taiwan, Visits Okayama University

A three-member delegation including the president of Kainan University, Taiwan, with which Okayama University has an inter-university agreement, visited Okayama University on May 19 and held discussions with President Morita and Yoko Yamamoto, director of the Center for Global Partnerships and Education.

The delegation consisted of President Chin-Yen Lin, Professor Kang-Tsung Chang, and Assistant Professor Wenchi Kang. Kainan University, whose campus is located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, is a private university boasting five faculties and 19 departments, including a School of Commerce and a School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and an enrolment of approximately 9,500 students.

Greeting President Morita, President Lin said, “I would very much like to deepen our friendly relations with Okayama University.” In reply, President Morita stated, “We are very interested in cooperation that will yield concrete outcomes, such as a further increase in the numbers of exchange students.” The presidents of the two universities then exchanged views on further collaboration in the future.

Okayama University currently has inter-university agreements with around 230 universities overseas, nine of which are in Taiwan. There are also three branches of the Okayama University Alumni conducting OB and OG activities in Taiwan.
