Guest from the Northeast Normal University Pays a Courtesy Visit to President Morita

On July 13, 2015, Prof. XU Bing, Executive Vice Dean of the Preparatory School for Chinese Students to Japan, established within the Northeast Normal University, China, visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call on President Kiyoshi Morita and Prof. Masaru Araki, Executive Director and Vice President (Social Responsibility and International Affairs).

The talks focused on the cooperative relationship between the two universities, including implementation of the Preparatory Educational Program for Chinese Students to Japan.

The program is being implemented at the Preparatory School for Chinese Students to Japan (Changchun City, Jilin Province). Roughly one year of preparatory education, with the goal of having the Chinese students acquire the necessary knowledge and competence in both basic Japanese and Japanese for special purposes, is carried out for students who will proceed on to research at Japanese graduate schools as government-sponsored foreign students to Japan. From this academic year, Okayama University is performing the main role of dispatching teaching staff for the special Japanese courses offered to the government-sponsored foreign students to Japan.
