Internet Radio Program Begins: International Students Speak about Campus Life at Okayama University in their Native Languages

November 18, 2015

The internet radio program “Okayama University Presents ‘World Heartful Message,’” began on November 9. International students introduce topics such as campus life and their study at Okayama University in their native languages on Okayama City FM (Radio Momo). This radio program is unique because everyone enjoys listening to the students’ voices on the internet and it is presented only in the native languages of the international students.

In each program, one member of the faculty staff talks with an international student about his or her life on the campus. They discuss how the students like living in Okayama, and students send messages to their home countries.

On November 5, the first program was recorded at Radio Momo’s studio in English between Robert James Seitz (from Arizona, USA) and Yasushi Iwabuchi, (Assistant professor at Center AGORA). Seitz talked about studying Japanese and his homestay in Yakage Town.

The programs are scheduled to run until March 2016, with international students of various nationalities taking part. The program can be heard on the second Monday of each month for 15 minutes from 10:40 a.m. Japan time. In these programs, Okayama University will inform the world about the culture and livability of Okayama.
