Three professors (Prof. Zhigang Yang, etc.) and 16 graduate students from China’s Tongji University visited the Tsushima Campus and participated in a summer seminar held by Okayama University’s Faculty of Engineering from August 29th to September 4th for seven days.

An opening ceremony was held on the first day, with opening remarks made by Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Eiji Tomita. During the second and third day, an international symposium called “International Student Symposium on Power and Mechanical Engineering at Okayama 2016” was held, with students from both universities, and approximately 50 participants.

From the fourth day and on, site visits were made to Hyogo Prefecture’s SPring-8 and Himeji Castle, as well as Kurashiki City’s JFE Steel Corporation steel plant. A campus tour of Okayama University and a social gathering with engineering students helped deepen exchanges.

This is an annual seminar, with next year’s location set for Tongji University. Cooperation will continue to be strengthened through international personal exchange and joint research.
