Commemorative Symposium Held for the Opening of the Okayama University-Wayne State University Joint Research Laboratory (OU-SCEED)

Okayama University and Wayne State University (WSU), Detroit, MI, USA, have jointly launched the Okayama University-Wayne State University Joint Research Laboratory (OU-SCEED) in the WSU campus to strengthen and promote mutually international research. The Commemorative Symposium was held on February 20 and 21 to mark the opening of OU-SCEED.

Executive Vice President for Research Shinichi Yamamoto, Vice Executive Director for Research Shuichi Furuya, and Vice President for International and Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs Masaharu Seno, attended the symposium on behalf of Okayama University. WSU Provost Keith Whitfield, and Vice President for Research Stephen Lanier, and other important people from WSU participated in the discussion on the education and the research activities in Okayama University as well as the strategy for further collaboration in the mutual and international research.

Okayama University and WSU concluded an agreement between the universities in February 2014, and have been keeping education and research exchanges in the field of medicine and biotechnology. Okayama University is an internationally state-of-the-art university that will keep the good relationships with highly respected universities and institutes in the world promoting the activities of research and education. Okayama University continues aiming higher global level of achievement as one of the excellent research universities in the country.
