Our university’s efforts toward the SDGs were covered in a special featured issue of Gakujutsu no Doko (Academic Trends) focusing on the United Nations’ Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in January 2018. This journal, edited in close collaboration with the Science Council of Japan, covers the most recent trends in academia, both in Japan and worldwide.
Various opinion leaders in industry, academia government who are addressing the SGDs have been put in charge of writing at this journal. Under the title of “Beginning University-wide Efforts to Achieve the SDGs at Okayama University,” our university introduced Okayama as a region taking the lead worldwide in efforts for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and its long history of valuing practical science.
