The 10th course students of the Okayama-Hue International Master’s Program meet their sponsors

On April 25, eight Vietnamese students of the 10th course students of the Okayama-Hue International Master’s Program, a joint program between Okayama University and Hue University, Vietnam had an opportunity to meet in person their sponsors—representatives from companies providing scholarship support to them during their stay in Japan—. The students talked about their impressions of Okayama Prefecture and Okayama University, their research and their enthusiasm for writing their master thesis, and expressed their gratitude to their sponsors for providing them a good environment in which they can concentrate on their studies.

In this program, Vietnamese students majoring in environmental and agricultural science study at Hue University for a year and a half and after that, they transfer into the Master’s Course of the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Science at Okayama University as second year students and receive their master’s degree upon completing the course. The scholarship is provided by the sponsorship—each student from Vietnam is supported by a particular sponsoring company/individual who has agreed to support the program.

Executive Vice President for Education, International Affairs, Hiroshi Sano, Executive Vice President for Social Collaboration, Masaru Kaga, and other university officials attended the ceremonial meeting. The representatives from sponsor companies offered words of encouragement to the students from Vietnam.
