On October 21, Consul General Jules Irrmann of France in Kyoto, Attachee Scirnce and Technology Sophie Bentzmann of the Embassy of France in Tokyou, Japan, and other officials visited Okayama University and paid a courtesy call on President MAKINO Hirofumi.

The visitors were welcomed not only by President Makino, but also by other members of Okayama University, including Dr. Bernard Chenevier (Senior University Research Administrator [URA]), and Senior Assistant Professor Renound Loic of the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, who spoke mainly about the interaction between Okayama University and French universities. After their courtesy visit, the consul general and other officials participated in the Campus France Tour, organized by Campus France Japan. It was the third time that the tour was held at Okayama University. The event provides a good opportunity for students of Okayama University to study in France, and some students actually participated in a short-term program in France through the event.
