本校于10月1日在秋季开学典礼创立五十周年纪念馆举行，新入学的Global Discovery Program学生27人和研究生102人开始了大学新生活。
　仪式上，那须保友校长致辞：“As a student studying at a research university promoting the SDGs，we hope that you will learn many new things with your friends，colleagues and us that will enable you to produce and deliver innovative discoveries，skills，and applications to the world.” 我衷心期待在推进SDGs的研究大学学习的各位，能和朋友、以及我们的教职员工一起获得更多的新知识，向世界创造并传播创新性的发现、技能和应用能力。”
　代表新生，Global Discovery Program的SRIVASTAVA Ananya表示“We hereby pledge to uphold the values of this institution，to honor its legacy by working hard to gain knowledge for the betterment of society.We look toward the new milestones on our path with the united determination to turn every setback into an opportunity for growth. 在此，我们誓死捍卫冈山大学的价值观，致力于为社会的提高加深知识，尊重其遗产。我们朝着今后的新目标，坚定地决心把任何逆境都变成成长的机会”。
