10月6日，冈山大学秋季入学仪式在创立五十周年纪念馆隆重举行，新入学的25名新生和72名研究生开始了崭新的校园新生活。
　槇野博史校长发表了「We expect you will become global leaders and to obtain an entrepreneurial spirit, an innovative outlook, and be interdisciplinary collaborators during your studies at Okayama University. （我们期待大家在冈山大学学到的知识可以引领世界潮流，培育创业者的精神和勇于创新的展望的）」致辞。新生代表国际交流项目的Tanuijaya Christophorus Seri同学作了「We, the new students of academic year 2018, vow to devote ourselves towards not only our motivations and desires, but also to become the integral part of this ever changing society’s improvement towards the better future.（2018年新生不但要有目标和热情，更要面向未来，与时俱进并有所担当。）」发言。
